What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Forms
We collect information from visitors to mayhunt.com through data capture forms, comment forms, and contact forms. We also collect personal details when site users email us with an enquiry. We collect this information to assist users and to better target our client services.
Log Files
Mayhunt follows a standard procedure of using log files. Log file information is automatically reported by your browser each time you make a request to visit a webpage. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages and the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. If used, the purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website and gathering demographic information.
Cookies and Web Beacons
A cookie is a small data file which may include an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your browser from a website’s computers and may either be used only during your session (a “session” cookie) or may be stored on your computer’s hard drive (a “persistent” cookie).
A web beacon is an often-transparent graphic image, usually no larger than 1 pixel by 1 pixel, that is placed on a website or in an email and used to monitor the behavior of the user visiting a site or sending the email.
Cookies and web beacons are often used in tandem and can contain data about user movement during the visit to a website. If your browser software is set to allow cookies, a website can send its own cookie to you.
Cookies are a mechanism for maintaining continuity during a user’s visit to a website. They allow data to be maintained for users’ benefit as they navigate a site and are read by the website that sent them whenever you re-visit the website. They are often used on websites that require you to log in so that you can avoid having to re-enter all of your login information every visit.
You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is sent. To learn more about how to manage cookies in your web browser, please visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/
If you visit our client login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Children’s Information
In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (“COPPA”), Mayhunt does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
You can learn more about COPPA at http://www.coppa.org/coppa.htm.
Embedded content from other websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Mayhunt is not responsible for the practices employed by any external websites or services linked to or from mayhunt.com, including the information or content contained within them. Our Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party websites or services. Your browsing and interaction on any third-party website or service, including those that have a link on our website, are subject to that third party’s own rules and policies. In addition, by using this site, you agree that Mayhunt is not responsible and does not have control over any third-parties that you visit.
Who we share your data with
We may share user data and information (including, but not limited to, cookies, log files, device identifiers, location data, and usage data) with third party service providers. These service providers use this information to help support, provide, and improve Mayhunt client services (including by providing analytics). Our service providers will be given access to your information when reasonably necessary to provide a given service and under terms of confidentiality and restricted use.
We may also share certain information, such as cookie data, with third-party advertising partners. This information is intended to allow third-party advertising networks to deliver targeted advertisements that will be of most interest to you based on prior purchasing or browsing activity.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have a client account on this site or have shared your information through a sign-up or contact form, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:
- See what data we have about you, if any.
